This is the first video of this children's favorite series that's not just a TV segment. The introduction, created for the video, follows Blue's intrepid friend Steve as he visits a kid's house to learn the "Birthday Candle Dance." It's only six or so minutes but it does add to the fun. Then it's on to Blue's fabulous birthday party, where she has left some clues for what she really wants for her birthday. Another winner. --Doug Thomas

5.0 out of 5 stars Great aid to help toddlers learn about birthday parties, September 14, 1999
    By A Customer
I got this video for my son a week before his second birthday. I was planning a party for him, but he didn't really understand the concept. He loved this video and requested it over and over. I started telling him about his party a few days before the big day, and he asked about blowing out candles, party hats and cake. He had a great time at his party, and I think it was a little less overwhelming for him because the video prepared him so well. Be prepared, however, as an adult, to have the "Birthday Candle Dance" song play over and over in your head.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT VIDEO!! Worth the money!, January 11, 1999

We have this video and the Storytime one, and this is by far our favorite. You can't miss with any of these. As far as videos go, it's great because it is interative (the kids answer Steve and get involved in the video), and kids learn terrific things like "what's missing from this picture." The songs are great and the entire video is much easier for adults to watch over and over than Barney (no offense, Barney). I highly recommend Blue's Clues for you and your pre-schooler. It's a favorite in our house.

All the Blue's Clues series is a must for preschool children. By focussing on specific concepts and themes throughout each show, children learn the basics through repetition and creative playing. The characters are adorable and a nice relief for parents used to the annoying Teletubbies. At least this series teaches your children something and they speak audible english. Kids are positive and big grins on their faces when they are told they are "smart" and "excellent" etc, by Steve. We have a 2 year old and she absolutely adores these videos. We even bought her the Handy Dandy Notebook, which is a nother positive reinforcement for added learning within this series. If you don't enjoy this we guarantee your kids will.
