5.0 out of 5 stars The quiet time, November 12, 2002

This review is from: Blue's Clues - It's Joe Time! [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My daughter loves watching Blue's Clues and after I bought this video she sat there during the whole video. She liked having both Steve and Joe on there. During the first show Steve is packing to leave for college, telling everyone that he will miss them and Joe is moving in the house. During the second show Joe and all the friends are making the "Big Book about Us".

5.0 out of 5 stars Bye Steve, Hello Joe, January 3, 2003
    By A Customer
This review is from: Blue's Clues - It's Joe Time! [VHS] (VHS Tape)
We all love this video. My three year old son can't wait to get to college to see Steve and study art and music and science with him! My 1 year old daughter loves seeing Steve and Joe together. We even made a great big book about us.
This video is a great way to teach your kids about higher education, saying good-bye, faimly, and friendship. We watch it over and over!

Well it had to happen eventually but after many years as Blue's partner Steve is now off to college and coming into the house is his kid brother Joe. At first my young one seemed to be luke warm to Joe but with repeated viewing as well as new tapes with Joe he's gotten used to him. Joe seems to bit a bit more exuberance to the role that Steve did and I think that comes across to kids.

You do not need your notebook to figure out who is in this Jack in the Box, just look at all the clues on the outside of the Box. Why, it's Blue! That's right Blue has hidden herself in this fancy tin jack in the box. Turn the handle, play a very familiar sound and before you know it, out pops Blue! Stands 11-inches tall when Blue is out.

Cheaply made---Blue only pops up sometimes. Also, you have to go through 2 cycles of the song before it pops up and even then, it doesn't pop out on the right musical note.

The toy was not durable at all. As soon as I opened it upon delivery, it broke. The item arrived dented already. It wouldn't pop out of the box. The handle used to make Blue pop out was flimsy and probably would have broken off eventually. That's too bad too, because my two year old couldn't understand why I had immediately packed it up. She loves Blue's Clues and I thought it was a perfect idea. Nope. Thumbs waaaaaay down on this one!! I can't even justify giving this toy ONE star. But, the Company gives you no alternative.

I bought this for my newphew who loves it to pieces! The only fault I had about it, is that the metal it's made from bends and dents easy and blue sometimes don't pop out. Other than that he loves his jack-in-a-box!
